History and Legacy

Musical Fidelity M6xTT follows the design and philosophy of the legendary M1 turntable and integrates it into the M6 series. The original M1 was developed by Musical Fidelity founder Antony Michaelson and Heinz Lichtenegger – the brand's distributor and later owner.

The core concept is to combine the inert mass of metal alloys with non-resonant acrylic. The motor is completely decoupled from the tonearm and platter thanks to the dual-chassis construction. Following the success of the M8xTT, the M6xTT brings a more accessible version of this sophisticated technology.

The tonearm

The turntable is equipped with a 9-inch tonearm, based on the M8xTT design but with improvements, including a shorter arm tube for optimal balance, a streamlined headshell for precise tracking, a direct 5P DIN output for superior connectivity, and an ultra-low resonance design with an acrylic bearing ring and conical aluminum tonearm tube. It also features full VTA and azimuth adjustment for optimal tuning, along with two counterweights with TPE damping to eliminate vibrations.

Motor and Platter

The motor is isolated using special foam in the lower acrylic plinth to minimize resonance. The electronic speed control allows switching between 33 and 45 RPM, utilizing advanced control technology. The turntable features DC-driven AC generator for precise speed control, elimination of dependency on mains power quality, seamless belt drive connecting the motor to the platter, heavy 6.6kg aluminum platter with TPE damping for maximum stability.

Adjustable Anti-Resonance Feet

The M6xTT is equipped with four heavy-duty aluminum feet featuring robust construction for enhanced stability, TPE damping to reduce vibrations, magnetic support to separate the two acrylic plinths and height adjustability for perfect leveling.
