Starting from a simple three-speaker setup in the 1980s, surround sound systems have evolved into complex configurations with up to 20 speakers. The new M6x 250.5 allows you to create a powerful 5.1 home cinema setup (your active subwoofer is powered separately). Connect your preamplifier/AV processor with either RCA or fully balanced XLR cables for enhanced sound quality and clean signal transmission.

Build and Design

The Musical Fidelity M6x 250.5 is not only impressive in sound quality but also in its high-quality metalwork and sleek design. The front panel, available in black or silver finish, is a custom-made fine line aluminum extrusion.

Connection Options

The M6x 250.5 offers a gold-plated RCA and a balanced XLR input per channel. For optimal sound quality, use a balanced XLR connection if your preamp has XLR outputs. This type of signal transmission increases dynamics, reduces noise, and improves the signal-to-noise ratio. The gold-plated RCA through output allows for signal distribution to multiple inputs, ideal for bi-amping. The isolated speaker output terminals accept 4 mm banana plugs, spade connectors, or naked wire. The trigger in/out feature enables the device to be turned on/off via other components.
