Fully Discrete Power Amplifier

The M2si delivers 72 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 137 watts into 4 ohms, making it capable of driving a wide range of speakers, including power-hungry models. The fully discrete power amplifier, along with its dedicated power supply and generously proportioned toroidal transformer, ensures ample reserves for peak delivery and a wide dynamic range. It handles low impedance dips gracefully, and its judiciously rated output devices won’t falter under any load.

Precision Matched Preamp and PRE/POWER Configuration

The low-noise preamp has its own independent power supply, offering the performance benefits of a pre/power configuration with the compact convenience of a one-box design. For optimal low-channel volume matching, a high-quality Burr-Brown stepped attenuator is used, providing performance far superior to conventional potentiometer designs.

The Musical Fidelity Design Philosophy

The M2si offers flexibility with six line-level inputs and switchable home-theatre throughput. It purposefully excludes a phono input and digital high-frequency DAC circuitry to maintain unadulterated sound quality. Introducing digital high-frequency modules would compromise the nuanced performance of the analog pre and power amplifiers, and the substantial transformer and power amp circuitry could interfere with delicate phono signals.
