Ortofon is a Danish company specializing in the production of high-quality audio products based on phonograph cartridges, tonearms, needles, and other accessories for audio equipment.

The company was founded in 1918 by Axel Petersen and Arnold Poulsen in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ortofon's start is associated with the development of the first electromagnetic sound recording device, which was revolutionary for its time.

In 1948, the company began producing phonograph cartridges, becoming one of the leading manufacturers of these products by the late 1950s. In the 1960s and 1970s, Ortofon created some of the most successful phonograph cartridge models in the world, which are still known for their high quality.

In the 1980s, the company began producing other audio products, such as tonearms and needles. In recent years, Ortofon has developed technologies such as Moving Coil (MC) and Moving Magnet (MM) for phonograph cartridges, as well as new materials and designs to improve sound quality.

Today, Ortofon is a globally recognized company with over 100 years of experience in producing high-quality audio products. The company continues to develop new technologies and products to meet the needs of its customers and establish itself as one of the leading manufacturers of audio equipment in the world.
